Real Madrid want to make a statement signing in the summer and have lined up Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, reports detail.

Cadena Sera underlines how the Spanish side have been keeping a close eye on the Georgian winger this season and have been very impressed by his explosive start to life in Italy. Kvaratskhelia has scored 11 goals and provided 14 assists in 23 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League, quickly rising to become one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe.

Real Madrid are also fans of Bellingham but are aware of the serious competition from Liverpool and the two Manchester clubs. Despite the fact that the two players feature in different positions and roles, Los Blancos want to invest heavily in a statement signing in the summer, forcing them to consider alternatives to the English midfielder.

Kvaratskhelia is therefore Real Madrid’s primary alternative to Bellingham. The Georgian is also being followed closely by the Saudi-backed Newcastle United, but with equal offers a move to the Spanish capital looks likelier.

It would take an extremely convincing offer for Napoli to give up on Kvaratskhelia, something that was recently highlighted by president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who told Bild that “our players are in great demand, but I do not feel forced to sell because we have no debts.”
