Real Madrid are hopeful that coach Carlo Ancelotti will put pen to paper on a new contract extension before Christmas according to reports on Monday afternoon.

It is no secret that the LaLiga giants would like the four-time Champions League winning coach to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, but they are reportedly facing competition from the Brazil national team.

At various stages of 2023, Ednaldo Rodrigues, President of the CBF, has insisted that Anelotti would be appointed as Brazil’s new CT before the 2024 edition of the Copa America.

However, according to reports from Calciomercato.com, Ancelotti has decided that Madrid would be his first choice.

Calciomercato also reference recent reports from Spanish outlet Relevo, which indicate that a renewal with Los Blancos is just around the corner.

In fact, according to reports on Monday, Ancelotti is inclined to say yes to Madrid in the coming weeks, and that the club’s objective is to have a new contract formalised before the Christmas period.

It is believed that Ancelotti will extend his contract by two years, tying him to the club until the summer of 2026.
