Antonio Rudiger has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid, snubbing a move to Juventus.

The Germany international sees his Chelsea contract expire in the summer. He had been linked with Juventus and Barcelona, but Real Madrid seem close to securing his services on a free transfer.

Sky Sport Italia’s Fabrizio Romano claims that Carlo Ancelotti’s side have reached a verbal agreement with the former Roma defender. In March, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the 29-year-old was close to joining Juventus, but no other sources confirmed that.

His agent was also spotted during a meeting with Barcelona directors a few weeks ago, but the La Liga giants have failed to reach an agreement with the defender.

Marca reported last week that Rudiger had requested a four-year deal worth €55m, including signing bonuses. The figures of the deal have not been revealed yet, but the Germany international seems to have chosen his next destination.

  1. Juve never had any chance which was obvious to anyone with a functioning brain. Which excludes the tabloid aggregators at FI obviously. This is a useless husk of a formerly good publication.

  2. Juve dodged a bullet there. Bremer is a far better option. They also have Gatti who has just joined the club and has great potential.

  3. A wise decision by Rudiger. Going to the world’s biggest team is always the pinnacle of ones career. Going to Juventus is a step down in comparison to those clubs linked. Also a very good decision to avoid PhD Max, after all he saw the slow ball in action when both clubs met in the CL group stages.
