Real Betis vice-president Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan confirms he is aware ‘there is talk of Milan, Borussia Dortmund and other Spanish clubs’ for Juan Miranda, but there is no deal yet.

The left-back is only under contract with Betis until the end of the current campaign and he does not seem intent on signing an extension.

With that in mind, and the Rossoneri’s serious injury problems, it seems likely that they will attempt a January swoop and Betis can try to cash in on their last chance to sell him.

“He is a player we love a great deal and I personally fought to get him to join Betis,” Lopez Catalan told Canal Sur.

“This is an important decision in his career. So far there have been proposals to renew, but for some reason, whether it is sporting or economic, we have not been able to reach an agreement.

“All this obviously makes him attractive to other clubs. There is talk of Milan, Borussia Dortmund or other Spanish teams, and anything could happen.

“We could even reach an agreement and we hope he renews with Betis for many years, but if he is offered double or triple what he earns here, then it is only fair he accepts. We don’t know anything yet, though.

“Our rapport with his family and agent is good, it’s not about a signing-on bonus, it’s mainly about the salary.”

While Milan have been tracking Miranda for many months, Calciomercato.com insist it is not true to say that he has already shaken hands with the Rossoneri or agreed terms.

The change in the injury situation could even push the Italians to make Miranda a priority for January rather than waiting until he becomes a free agent, which might give them the advantage.
