There are reports Milan could miss out on RC Lens striker Lois Openda, it is suggested RB Leipzig saw a €30m offer rejected for not being high enough.

The Rossoneri had set their sights on Openda after he scored 21 goals in 38 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

He is already a senior Belgium international with eight caps and two goals under his belt at the age of 23.

There were suggestions in Sky Sport Germany that a deal had been done for RB Leipzig to pick up Openda as the natural heir to Christopher Nkunku.

However, Foot Mercato insist the €30m bid was turned down because it does not reflect the true worth of the player on the transfer market.

If that were the case, Milan would be unlikely to win a bidding war with RB Leipzig for the centre-forward and might have to turn their focus elsewhere.

RC Lens only purchased Openda from Club Brugge last summer for under €10m.
