RB Leipzig have emerged for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, a player also wanted by Inter, reports from England suggest.
The Evening Standard details how the Bundesliga outfit are dealing with a slight defensive crisis following the injury to Lukas Klostermann and they’ve set their sights on the 23-year-old English defender, who looks unlikely to feature prominently under Thomas Tuchel this season.
RB Leipzig are looking to try and pick up Chalobah on a loan deal, possibly with a permanence clause attached, but they’ll have to fight off competition from Inter, who are also considering their options as the transfer window starts to draw to a close.
The Nerazzurri seemingly remain undecided regarding which one of their three defensive targets to focus on, with Francesco Acerbi and Manuel Akanji also in the running alongside Chalobah.
Chelsea are still working hard to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City and may be willing to let the 23-year-old quickly leave in order to help push along a deal.
decent player, be useful to rotate in = miles better signing than acerbi
