Fabrizio Ravanelli has vowed to target Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain if he becomes Olympique Marseille’s sporting director.
Higuain’s contract expires next summer and a renewal is looking unlikely, with a return to River Plate heavily mooted.
However, Ravanelli is confident of swaying the 32-year-old to Marseille on one condition.
“If I was Marseille’s sporting director? I’d bring in Higuain!” the ex-Italy striker told L’Equipe.

However, Ravanelli is confident of swaying the 32-year-old to Marseille on one condition.
“If I was Marseille’s sporting director? I’d bring in Higuain!” the ex-Italy striker told L’Equipe.
“I don’t know if he’d come with me… He’d be an important player to help OM qualify for the Champions League and he might be allowed to leave this summer.
“Maybe he’ll stay but, in my opinion, we can take this 32-year-old on loan.”
Ravanelli scored 69 goals for Juve between 1992 and 1996, winning a Scudetto and the Champions League.
He managed just one win in his 22 games coaching Ajaccio and Arsenal Kiev and is now embarking on a career as a sporting director.
Marseille could turn to their former hitman to replace Andoni Zubizarreta, who left his post last month.
