Giacomo Raspadori was impressed with the ‘marvellous atmosphere’ at Ibrox, but feels Napoli fully deserved their 3-0 Champions League victory over Rangers.

Piotr Zielinski saw his penalty saved by Alan McGregor – twice – before Matteo Politano’s spot-kick, Raspadori and Tanguy Ndombele rounded out the scoreline.

“It was a wonderful evening and a great victory for us in a marvellous atmosphere,” Raspadori told Mediaset Infinity.

“This kind of arena can be intimidating, but we stayed in the game despite a few negative incidents and brought home an important win.

“We have started the season on the right foot.”

The Partenopei are now three points clear at the top of their Champions League group on six points, followed by Liverpool and Ajax with three, while Rangers are on zero.

The Italy international was initially on the bench, as Giovanni Simeone started and earned the first penalty, but he came on and scored for 2-0.

“There is competition for places because there’s so much quality in our set of strikers. I am young and try to learn from everyone so that I can improve as a player. It’s a good group of people as well as players.”

  1. Now that the spite and the bad energies have gone since Insigne left, Napoli is flying, again. Napoli is playing as they should; With a full squad’11 players agaiunst 11, and not 12 against 9.
