The long-running transfer saga over centre-back Romagnoli appeared to come to an end yesterday, when Lupi sporting director Walter Sabatini announced that a deal was done.

Corriere dello Sport has reported today that the Giallorossi are looking to spend the €25m they will bring in from the sale on three new defenders.

The newspaper believes that Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is close to joining Lyon and therefore the Lupi will look to sign Paris Saint-Germain full-back Lucas Digne and two centre-backs.

The list of potential options includes Thomas Vermaelen, Rolando, Dejan Lovren, Ezequiel Garay, Thomas Herteaux, Lorenzo Tonelli and Andrea Ranocchia.

The latter is reportedly the main target, but could cost between €12-15m and Gazzetta dello Sport believe the Giallorossi will attempt to sign the 27-year-old on an initial loan deal.
