With Javier Zanetti’s retirement, the central defender is likely to be given the armband for next season.

Sport Mediaset though, have revealed that the Italy international is reticent to sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

His contract expires in 2015, and it is suggested that the 26-year-old is unwilling to put pen to paper because Juventus are interested in his services.

The Bianconeri have been keeping a keen eye on Ranocchia, and Mediaset maintain that Antonio Conte’s men have made the centre-back’s representative aware that they would be happy to pick him up on a free next summer.
