“We are a big family. In our team we have a very international atmosphere, and that’s how it’s been since the club was founded 110 years ago,” Ranocchia told The Star.

“Personally, I’m very happy to get back into the Champions League, where a club like Inter deserves to be.

“As with every pre-season we have trained hard, so we won’t be at 100 per cent.

“But the match is an opportunity to play competitive football, but also to experiment with new tactics and prepare to play on three fronts.

“Englandis the home of football and it’s great to be back after my experience at Hull City.”
