The Andrea Ranocchia saga seems to be over, as it’s reported the Inter defender will join Sampdoria on loan.
The former captain is no longer part of Roberto Mancini’s plans and had been linked with numerous different clubs, including Milan, Liverpool, Atalanta and Norwich City.
Sky Sport Italia now claim Sampdoria and Inter have agreed a six-month dry loan, so without an option to buy.
The transfer could be completed on Monday, but it’s possible Inter will wait until after their Coppa Italia semi-final with Juventus on Wednesday.

It’s a return to Marassi, as he played for Genoa from 2008 to 2011, save for a loan spell at Bari.
