Claudio Ranieri insists Sampdoria ‘wanted to win’ against Spezia, but he is happy with the reaction of his players.

The Blucerchiati recovered twice from one goal down in the Liguria derby against Spezia, snatching a 2-2 draw.

“It was a strange game, we kept the ball possession, but we failed to score while they found the net playing on the counter-attack,” Ranieri told DAZN.

“I am happy with the lads’ reaction, we could have avoided those two goals. Perhaps we were not concentrated enough.
