Sampdoria coach Claudio Ranieri said Antonio Candreva wished him a Merry Christmas, as he highlighted there are 'no problems' at the Marassi.

In an interview with Il Corriere dello Sport, the former Roma coach said all his players sent a message to wish him a happy Christmas, including the Inter loanee.

Candreva and Ranieri had a falling out before the holidays but peace was restored ahead of Christmas and the veteran played the last 17 minutes of the 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo on December 23.

Ranieri saved the Blucerchiati from relegation last term and has helped them sit 11th in Serie A after 14 games in 2020-21.

But he had to reassure fans about his own position at the club, as his contract expires in June 2021.

“I have no problems,” Ranieri told Il Corriere dello Sport. “When the President wants to call me, we will sit down at the table.

“Everyone would like to stay on the left side of the standings, but I always set myself a target of reaching 40 points.

“That’s because I know the difficulties of the championship.”
