Claudio Ranieri said Roberto Mancini’s Italy are ‘playing like a club’ after two convincing performances in Group A of Euro 2020.

Manuel Locatelli’s brace and Ciro Immobile’s late finish secured a second consecutive 3-0 win on Wednesday, as Italy have qualified for the last 16 by beating both Turkey and Switzerland.

“Italy play like a club. It’s the way to go,” Ranieri told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Italy in general reiterated what we saw against Turkey.

“Dribbling, pressing, running, the continuity. It’s a national team that plays like a club and this enhances the work that Roberto Mancini is doing even more.

“So far it seems to me like the perfect orchestra. Six goals scored, zero conceded, permanent domination of the opponent.

“Mancini has opened a new path with Italy. We must continue to follow it.”
