The former Giallorossi Coach gave an interview to L'Espresso in which he blamed Borriello and Pizarro for fomenting an atmosphere of tension within the locker room, declaring the Chilean never even looked him in the eyes.
“I have always said what I think,” Ranieri told Adnkronos news agency this evening.

“Honesty towards myself and others is the principle through line of my life, both in sport and in private. I don't think I said anything so shocking, as in my view fans who paid attention already knew everything.
“What counts now is supporting Roma in this difficult time.”
Ranieri had also noted Francesco Totti was “more isolated than many would think” in the locker room.
“Remember I left to give a positive shake-up to the team, taking responsibility for my mistakes.
“I think it is crucial for the fans to support the symbolic players like Totti and Daniele De Rossi, who as Romans like me suffer twice as much and feel even more responsibility at wearing this jersey.
“I have trained in Italy and abroad, but my months spent at Trigoria will always remain the most important of my career. I am Roman and will always be a Romanista.”
