Salernitana are second in Serie B with 11 points from five games in 2020-21 and Ranieri knows the visitors are doing well so far.

“I care and the lads must care,” Ranieri told the club’s official website. “I will use those who played less because they deserve it.

“At the same time, they have to show me that they understand what I want from them. Salernitana are second in the standings and are doing well.”

The coach, who won the Coppa Italia as coach of Fiorentina in 1995-96, said it’s a competition that matters ‘a lot’ to him.

“I care a lot about the Coppa Italia,” he added. “Many years ago, I won both the Cup and the Supercoppa Italiana, I want to do well in this competition.

“I could play with the usual team, but I want to give those who deserve it a chance.”
