Writing in Il Corriere dello Sport, the Tinkerman feels his side's togetherness is a key factor in their recent resurgence.

"I am happy to have won this derby, the third in a row as you underlined," Ranieri wrote.

"I won't hide it, but for me what counts is having won the first 'away' game of our season and taking another step [forward] in the League.

"You need a method and a desire to build something. The season is long. I have always said it and continue to do so.

"The objective is always to do better with tenacity, consistency and dedication on the behalf of everyone.

"On Sunday I saw two important teams in this League face each other. The 'episodes' aren't important.

"I saw our beautiful match against the League leaders. I am proud of my boys' showing.

"Seeing Daniele De Rossi go running under the Curva Sud, his teammates with him after a real football battle on the pitch; seeing the team run towards Adriano after the goal and seeing our fans happy are feelings that remain with you.

"Roma are a team. We are a team. We have built this victory with grit, determination and good football. Every individual was at the group's service.

"Totti and the others who didn't play were with us with the desire to win," he concluded.
