“Are we irritated by yet another penalty? We're used to it by now here at Inter,” Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia after the fifth kick awarded against them.

“We hope all this ends soon, especially as the referee didn't give the penalty tonight, but it was the assistant who flagged and took that responsibility.

“Looking at the replays, I think Cristian Chivu and Guido Marilungo were holding each other by the arm. Never mind, it's just the way it seems to be going for us this season.

“Inter did well in the first half and conceded with the only real shot on target. After the break we created a great deal and I am happy with the performance. They gave their all and that was what we needed.”
