RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner would become the main target for a Milan side coached by Ralf Rangnick, claim reports in Italy.

The rumours continue to persist that Rangnick has been chosen to take over from next season, not only as coach, but also with powers over the transfer market as director of sport.

According to Sport Mediaset, his first move would be to bring in Werner from RB Leipzig, continuing their working relationship.

According to Sport Mediaset, his first move would be to bring in Werner from RB Leipzig, continuing their working relationship.

It was Rangnick who chose to sign Werner from VfB Stuttgart for €14m in the summer of 2016 and his price-tag is now closer to €80m.

He just turned 24 and has scored 27 goals in 36 competitive games this season, along with 12 assists.

Werner also has 11 goals in 29 senior caps for Germany.
