Gazzetta dello Sport reports Milan are still keen on Ralf Rangnick and that Elliott Management is ready to invest €75m on new players.

Talks with Rangnick seemed to be slowing down, with Luciano Spalletti becoming the new favourite to replace Stefano Pioli.

However, La Gazzetta assures the former RB Leipzig boss is still very much at the forefront of Elliott’s plans for the Rossoneri.

As per the newspaper, the issue of next season’s budget is currently being negotiated between the two parties.

However, La Gazzetta assures the former RB Leipzig boss is still very much at the forefront of Elliott’s plans for the Rossoneri.

As per the newspaper, the issue of next season’s budget is currently being negotiated between the two parties.

Furthermore, the idea remains that he would be given ‘full powers’ that also encompass player recruitment.

To convince Rangnick, it is claimed Elliott will hand him €75m – without taking sales into account – to spend as he wishes in the transfer market.

The hedge fund has shelved plans to sell the Rossoneri for now, and La Gazzetta writes that leaves Paolo Maldini closer to an exit.

Maldini has already seen ally and ex-Milan teammate Zvonimir Boban depart earlier this season.

The pair will not be replaced, allowing Rangnick and CEO Ivan Gazidis to take full control over club matters.
