Reports in the UK suggest Rangers could be given a chance to rearrange the upcoming Champions League fixture against Napoli while all English, Northern Irish and professional Scottish football has been postponed this weekend.

Football is off in the UK this weekend following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. UK’s longest reigning sovereign ‘died peacefully at Balmoral’ on Thursday, aged 96.

Games in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland have been postponed. According to The Daily Record, Rangers could be given a chance to rearrange the upcoming home Champions League fixture with Napoli next Tuesday.

Europa League games, including Manchester United’s Old Trafford clash against Real Sociedad, went ahead yesterday, but it remains to be seen what will happen during the ten days of national mourning beginning today.

On Wednesday, Napoli won their opening Champions League Group stage game against Liverpool 4-1, while the Scots lost 4-0 away at Ajax.
