Sam Lammers is preparing to return to Atalanta after a season out on loan but could quickly leave again as Rangers look to take him to Scotland, reports suggest.
The 26-year-old Dutch forward, who joined la Dea in September 2020 from PSV in a deal worth around €8m, was sent to Empoli on loan last summer but only spent six months in Tuscany before heading to Liguria, where he spent the second half of the season on loan with Sampdoria.
Lammers’ contract expires with Atalanta at the end of this month and a renewal is looking unlikely, making him available on a free transfer in a few weeks’ time.
As reported by TMW, Lammers is on the verge of leaving Italy in the coming weeks, with Rangers seriously interested in bringing the Dutch forward to Scotland.
The 26-year-old has never particularly impressed in Serie A, scoring just four goals and providing two assists in 50 league appearances following his arrival from PSV in 2020.
