Aaron Ramsey admits his time at Juventus was challenging, especially over the last two seasons, and hopes to get regular playing time at Rangers.

The former Arsenal star moved to Scotland on the deadline day.

Juventus had been trying to find a new club for the Wales international who was one of the highest earners in Turin.

Ramsey eventually joined Rangers on loan with an option to buy for €6m.

“I had a few conversations with the manager over the last week. I was very excited to get here,” the 31-year-old told Sky Sports UK.

How does it feel about joining a new club on the deadline day?

“It was a little bit nervous at times, things going on between the clubs, little things changing here and there but I was happy that we managed to get it done,” he admitted.

“It was the first time for me, but, yes, it was definitely a nervy experience.”

What did he learn at Juventus and what didn’t work out for him in Turin?

“It’s been challenging. I wanted to play, I’ve played many games thorough my career and the last couple of seasons have been a bit difficult at times, but that’s the past. I am looking forward to this challenge,” said Ramsey.

“No hard feelings that I left. Everything was agreed and pretty straightforward. I can only say thank you to everyone for my time there, but now it’s time to focus on Rangers. Hopefully, I am capable of showing that I am able to do it again.”

The former Arsenal moved to Turin in a free transfer in 2019. He scored six goals in 70 appearances during his two-year and a half spell at the Allianz Stadium.

He had only played five games with the Serie A giants under Massimiliano Allegri this term.

  1. What are you talking about? It’s a press conference via Zoom. He’s looking at the screen the person is asking the questions is on the whole time.

  2. Boori, I think you may be right. He is at Rangers because he knows he would get abuse in English Premier League, and probably not good enough level. Basically, he is there for easy football and he will put ALL his effort into Wales games. He was the same at Juventus– pick up huge salary, be “injured” … but then play for Wales
