Gaston Ramirez's agents “are ruining the player's public image,” slammed Bologna after his claim he was “held prisoner.”

The Uruguayan talent is on the wish-lists of several sides, including Roma, but complained he was “held prisoner” at the Stadio Dall'Ara.

“Bologna FC 1909 advise Ramirez's agents to use their energies for something more positive, seeing as this club will not in any way allow itself to be conditioned by these tactics,” read a statement from President Albano Guaraldi.

“The only result of this approach is to ruin the player's public image and wreck the rapport between a 20-year-old lad and his fans.

“Ramirez has a perfectly valid contract with Bologna and the club will decide when and under what conditions to sell the player.

“We reiterate that so far no deserving offers have arrived and, in the absence of adequate proposals, regardless of what his agents say, Bologna intend to keep hold of Ramirez for this season.”
