Southampton’s Gaston Ramirez is on the transfer wish-list of Italian giants Milan.

The Rossoneri are now targeting talented youngsters and the 22-year-old Uruguayan is reportedly a player they would like at San Siro.

Ramirez knows Italian football well given that he left Serie A side Bologna in the summer in favour of a move to the Premiership.

The attacking midfielder has netted three goals in 13 games for his new club.

However, a January move to the Diavolo for the player could only be possible if he is issued with an EU passport.

Should that not arrive in time then Milan will assess the situation again at the end of the present campaign.

Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi this week admitted that the club were monitoring three youngsters, one who plays in Italy and two who are abroad.

Ramirez is thought to be one of those, while Newcastle’s Davide Santon and Roma striker Mattia Destro are understood to be the others.
