However, FCInterNews reports that his mission was unsuccessful, as the owners reiterated that only loans or sales can be considered before the June 30 FFP deadline.

The club can self-finance any signings by selling players, and Joao Mario or Marcelo Brozovic would be the likely candidates for that.

It was hoped that Ramires could arrive from Jiangsu Suning, who have the same owners, but Suning don’t want to send the Brazilian on a free loan while the Chinese club pays all or at least half of his wages.
