The defender left the Rossoneri this summer, moving to Europa League winners Sevilla after two seasons at San Siro.
“Did I speak to [France Coach Didier] Deschamps before joining Sevilla?” Rami considered, speaking to France Football.
“Yes, of course, I asked his advice, but I’ll keep the actual conversation to myself. I also told him how I love France.

“By joining Sevilla, I’ve respected the criteria to be called up to the France squad. I made the choice, to put all the cards in my favour.
“Sevilla have won the last two Europa Leagues, and will play in the Champions League this season.
“As for France, we’ll see, I don’t want to boast about anything, but I still have a lot to give for Les Bleus.”
The 29-year-old was also asked about Diavolo President Silvio Berlusconi, and explained he twice received a personal phonecall from the patron.
“It happened twice, someone from Milan told me: ‘the President wants to talk to you, here’s the phone’.
“When that happens, everyone leaves and lets you talk to him calmly. He wanted to congratulate me.
“Once was after the derby last season. He told me: ‘congratulations, I know right-back isn’t your position’. I’d done a very good job [there].
“He also complimented me after the last Serie A match of 2013-14. I’d had a wonderful tackle on an opponent who was running through on goal.
“Someone slipped me the phone, he said: ‘congratulations, I enjoyed your game and your tackle, see you next year’.”
