Barcelona midfielder and Serie A target Ivan Rakitic wants to see Lautaro Martinez join him in Catalonia this summer.

The Croatia international has reportedly been targeted by Milan, Inter and Juventus but snubs the Italian giants by claiming he doesn’t play a part in a possible move for Lautaro to arrive at Camp Nou this summer.

“I always aim to have the best players on my team and Lautaro is of the highest level,” he told Cadena Cope. “I’ll be happy if he comes to join us, but I can’t say anything else. It doesn’t concern me personally; I don’t have a role in this.”

The 32-year-old has struggled to claim a starting position with the Blaugrana this term and his contract expires in June 2021, but the midfielder is not fussed by seeing his name linked with a move away from the club.

“[President Josep Maria] Bartomeu has not called me, but he could do it at any moment,” Rakitic said. “I have no negative thoughts.

“I’m used to seeing my name linked with a move or included in the list of players leaving. I can only say that I was happy to resume training and to wear the Barcelona shirt again.

“We all wanted to run and pass the ball to a teammate rather than kick it against a wall. What I want, is to win multiple titles.

“My daughter asked me when we would have another cup at home. I replied soon there would be two more.

“What I want now, is to think about Barcelona. Anyone who knows me is aware of my attachment to Spain. We will return to live in Seville sooner or later, because my wife wants to see her family more often, but we are doing well in Barcelona.”
