Agent Mino Raiola continues to suggest Juventus should step up their bid for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “Six months ago Milan thought Mario Balotelli was impossible…”

The reports have been swirling round for several weeks and intensified considerably, so Raiola spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport today with more encouragement.

“I already got on the train of opportunity along with Zlatan: anyone who wants to join us is welcome,” smiled the agent who represents both Balotelli and Ibra.

“After all, six months ago Milan thought Balotelli was impossible, but they made the right sacrifice at the right time and the dream became reality.

“It is evident that the Bianconeri need a top player. At the moment I think Zlatan can give them the most guarantees of success.

“His wages? It’s too early to get into these details. I think at the moment only Juve and Milan, plus Inter, could think about a similar swoop.

“Listening to Adriano Galliani, I had to smile. He said he misses Thiago Silva more than Ibra. I understand he’s embarrassed and with all due respect for the great defenders, but Milan won their last Scudetto thanks to Ibrahimovic’s goals. If they lost last season, it certainly wasn’t his fault.

“In any case, Milan have bought Super Mario and I think he has resolved certain problems they had in attack.”

Raiola also revealed what happened when Balotelli turned down the chance to attend a prestigious New York gala as part of the Time 100 most influential people in the world.

“It was his decision. He called me on Friday on his return from the ban appeal in Rome to tell me he wasn’t going to New York. He would’ve come back to Italy on the Thursday and not had time to prepare at his best for the Catania game.

“I complimented Mario for his professional attitude, as it was not a small sacrifice giving that up. I then called Galliani to tell him the news and he was speechless. There had been planned meetings with sponsors and the consulate in New York.

“Time magazine’s recognition was a great honour, but it’s good that right now he stays with his teammates and gives his all in the Champions League chase.”
