Raiola can’t take Ballon d’Or seriously because of Ibrahimovic and Lewandowski snub

Mino Raiola reveals Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of Erling Haaland’s idols and claims he ‘can’t take the Ballon d’Or seriously’ because the Milan striker has never won it.

Raiola provided the latest transfer updates on some of his star clients, including Paul Pogba and Erling Haaland.

He said that only four clubs can afford to sign the Norway striker who has Zlatan Ibrahimovic as one of his idols.

Raiola also discussed his view on the Ballon d’Or.

“I can’t take this seriously,” he admitted.

“Zlatan always complains because he never won it. In my opinion, Lewandowski should have won this year and Zlatan should have won too.

“Quality does not always prevail in a democracy,” Raiola continued. “Emotions and feelings play a role in the choice.”

Leo Messi won the seventh Ballon d’Or in his career last week ahead of Lewandowski and Chelsea and Italy Regista Jorginho.

Ibrahimovic has never finished in the top three in his career.

Ibrahimovic aims to join Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the ‘club of 300’

The Swede returned for a second spell at Milan in January 2020 and has scored 13 appearances across all competitions with the Rossoneri this season.

If he finds the net against Udinese tomorrow, he will become the third player to score at least 300 goals in the best European leagues in the 2000s, after Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
