Reports in Spain state that Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is close to joining Real Betis, in what would be a double blow for Inter.

The Brazilian midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with the Nerazzurri, but they couldn’t pay the buyout clause before June 30, when it expired, due to Financial Fair Play.

Negotiations took place for another loan, but Barça were only interested in a permanent transfer.

Now RAC1 is reporting that Rafinha’s father and agent is in Seville to close a move to Real Betis, ruling out a January move to San Siro.

It’s a double blow for the Beneamata, as the Spanish side had been interested in Joao Mario, who Inter want to sell.

Rafinha’s arrival will see Betis drop that interest, with just 11 days to get the Portuguese off the wage bill.
