Milan star Rafael Leao is set to make his 100th Serie A appearance in today’s derby della Madonnina and could cement his position as the best young assist man in the league.

The Portuguese star will be the man to watch for Inter in today’s derby della Madonnina. Despite only scoring one goal in the opening four games of the season, Leao arguably remains Milan’s most dangerous man.

As highlighted by Opta, Leao is the best assist man in Serie A, considering players born from 1999. The former Lille and Sporting CP starlet has contributed to 16 assists in Italy’s top flight.

He is also the third-best young goalscorer in the league after Dusan Vlahovic and Andrea Pinamonti.

Leao has scored 24 goals in 99 Serie A appearances. The Juventus star has 55 (in 117 games), while the ex-Inter starlet, who joined Sassuolo this summer, has managed 25 Serie A goals in 110 appearances.

  1. Leao has to really step up tonight, ain’t no way teams are going to pay 100M and 7M salary if he keeps on disappearing from games to games. What better stage to show his growth than the grande derby.

  2. He could really do with a big game today. The team could do with Leao having a big game.

Good to know he’s the best as.sist man…..from players born since 1999. What a ridiculous stat.
