Rafael Leao will wear Milan’s No.10 next season following Brahim Diaz’s return to Real Madrid, claims Milannews.

Real Madrid confirmed Brahim’s return to the Estadio Bernabeu on Saturday. The Spaniard spent three seasons on loan at the Stadio Meazza.

Milannews’ Antonio Vitiello claims that Brahim’s return to the Spanish capital has prompted Leao to change his shirt number for next season.

The Portuguese striker considered wearing the No. 7 but eventually decided to pick No.10, which Brahim wore over the last two seasons and is now available.

Leao signed a contract extension with Milan until 2027 a few days ago, becoming the highest earner at San Siro with a €7m-a-year salary.

Leao has a new €175m clause included in his contract with the Serie A giants. He has scored 43 goals in 163 appearances, with the Rossoneri winning the Scudetto in 2021-22 when he was named the best player of the season in Italy’s top flight.
