Now Carlo Ancelotti has officially turned Milan down, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Vincenzo Montella, Roberto Donadoni and Cristian Brocchi want the job.

This evening the club released a statement confirming Ancelotti will not be their Coach next season.

There seems to be no chance of current boss Pippo Inzaghi keeping his spot on the bench, so it’s now a race to find his replacement.

According to various different sources, there are four serious candidates for the position.

Mihajlovic is the favourite, having left Sampdoria and fallen behind Sevilla’s Unai Emery in the running for Napoli.

Another option is Montella, who is expected to make a decision on his Fiorentina future this week.

Donadoni fits the bill wanted by President Silvio Berlusconi, as he is a former Milan player and eager for some stability after a hellish year at bankrupt Parma.

A very risky alternative would be current Primavera youth team Coach Brocchi, who would be helped by Marcello Lippi as director of sport.
