With Inter’s shock defeat to Bologna, they could be caught in joint second place by both Milan and Roma by the end of this round, as the fight for the Champions League spots intensifies.

Napoli are now 18 points clear at the top of the table and it is increasingly difficult to see anything other than a Scudetto this season.

The race is therefore for the other three spots in the Champions League and it is going to be increasingly tight as we head into the final 14 rounds.

Inter are now on 47 points, with Roma and Milan yet to play and currently on 44 points.

The Rossoneri host Atalanta this evening, who are in sixth place on 41 points, while the Giallorossi take on rock bottom Cremonese on Tuesday.

Lazio can also close the gap, as they play struggling Sampdoria tomorrow and are on 42 points.

There is also the matter of Juventus to be taken into consideration, as if they win their appeal against the 15-point penalty for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains, they will surge back up to 47 points with a game yet to be played.
