Multiple outlets are reporting that Juventus midfielder and France international Adrien Rabiot is ready to extend his stay in Turin and will likely put pen to paper on a contract extension in the coming weeks.

The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the 2023-24 season. His contract had also expired at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, but he decided to stay on at the Allianz Stadium for an extra year on improved personal terms.

Rabiot currently takes home an annual salary of €7m, and despite strong interest from the Premier League, he could be set to sign off on an additional year on the same wages.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a strong relationship with coach Max Allegri is the main reason behind his desire to stay.

In fact, Allegri was one of the main reasons why Rabiot had wanted to sign for Juventus in the first place back in 2019, however, the coach had left the club at the end of 2018-19 season, before the two had had the chance to work together.

A few months after Maurizio Sarri came in to replace Allegri, Rabiot’s mother and agent Veronique had considered requesting a move away from Juventus due to lack of consistent game time.

Things began to improve under Andrea Pirlo, but Rabiot’s return to form at the highest level has largely coincided with the return of Allegri.
