Adrien Rabiot is still without a club, but his agent and mother Veronique assures a return to Juventus was ‘never an option.’

The France international became a free agent when his contract was allowed to run down on June 30 and his wage demands have put every other club off doing a deal.

Juve coach Thiago Motta was asked during a press conference yesterday if the player could potentially return and slammed the door shut.

L’Equipe spoke to Rabiot’s formidable mother, who also acts as his agent, and she had a strong response.

“There was no need to close the door, because returning to Juventus was never an option that we considered. When we make decisions, we take responsibility for them,” said Veronique Rabiot.

Options limited for expensive Rabiot

Milan also seem to have backed away from the idea of signing him over the €10m per season wages plus commission and rumoured €15m signing-on fee.

Manchester United and Newcastle United are also hesitant to accept those kinds of personal terms.

The Saudi Pro League seems to be the only remaining alternative for the France international, unless he decides to accept a more reasonable salary.
