Sampdoria forward Fabio Quagliarella has reportedly cut part of his salary to help the Blucerchiati economically.

The Serie A side have introduced a new wage cap at €1m a year and Quagliarella has, according to Tuttosport, therefore decided to cut his salary accordingly.

The newspaper reports the club feels Gaston Ramirez should do the same, but the Uruguayan forward has other options and considers leaving the club.

Quagliarella, who arrived from Torino in July 2016, turned 37 in January but continues to play an important role at the Marassi.
