Antonio Conte has handed Fabio Quagliarella a late call-up to his Italy squad, as replacement for the injured Dani Osvaldo.

Osvaldo sat out training on Monday with the Azzurri struggling with an adductor problem and after assessment today, has been sent home.

Through a statement on their official website, the Italian Football Federation have announced that Torino forward Quagliarella has been called up in his place.

The 31-year-old, who has 25 caps and seven goals to his name with Italy, returns to international duty under Conte, a Coach who he struggled for regular game time with during their spell at Juventus, which ended this summer.

Quagliarella has not played for Italy since November 2010's 1-1 friendly draw away to Romania, in which he also scored.

This is the second change to the Italy squad for the friendly with the Netherlands and the opening Euro 2016 qualifier with Norway, following Gabriel Paletta’s withdrawal and Angelo Ogbonna’s call-up in his place yesterday evening.
