Qarabag Coach Gurban Gurbanov says his side “want to prove we’re not here by chance” against Roma tomorrow.

The Azerbaijani side haven’t earned a single win in the Champions League so far, but they want to make a statement at the Olimpico.

“I can say we’ve learned a lot,” Gurbanov said in his pre-match Press conference.

“We’ve had a great experience and we want to play well tomorrow. Also, Roma’s fate depends on tomorrow’s game. The players will give their all, we want to prove we’re not here by chance.

“The players want to show what they can do. The more games they play at this level the more experience they’ll gain, these matches are always beautiful to play.

“Tomorrow we have the advantage of playing with no pressure, we’ll play our best game.

“We haven’t won a game? We could also have had zero points. We recovered after the big defeat [to Chelsea] in London and I’m happy.

“We’ve gained a lot of things, one of which is experience. The biggest gain is to have brought great teams to Azerbaijan, that will move both ourselves and Azerbaijan forward.”

Gurbanov has faced both Eusebio Di Francesco and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, with whom was he more impressed?

“I only have good things to say about both of them. In general the Italian school is one of the best, it gives huge importance to tactics.

“Conte has his own specific system and philosophy, as does Di Francesco.”
