The 26-year-old Argentinian striker scored the opening goal of the match in the Italian capital on Sunday evening, putting the Nerazzurri ahead after 40 minutes when he burst forward and dribbled around Ivan Provedel to poke the ball into the back of the net.
It was a key win for Inter, allowing them to build a gap with second-place Juventus after the Old Lady’s painful draw with Genoa on Friday evening. For Lautaro, he netted his 17th goal in 22 games against Lazio, continuing to prove himself as one of the strongest strikers in the world.
La Gazzetta dello Sport praised Lautaro for his hard work throughout the match and impressive opener, writing: “The dedication is at least as beautiful as the goal, not at all simple, focused in his dribbling and moving underneath to get past the defender. As usual, a packed game.”
