Retired striker Alessandro Matri insists Juventus ought to sell Dusan Vlahovic and reinvest in Napoli star Victor Osimhen.

The Partenopei already confirmed via President Aurelio De Laurentiis that Osimhen will want to move on at the end of the season.

He has a release clause in his contract that is believed to be set at €120-130m and Matri suggested a revolutionary idea.

“I would not rule out Osimhen going to Juventus,” said the former Bianconeri striker in his new role as a pundit on DAZN.

“If Vlahovic ends this season well, he could be sold for €70m, while Matias Soulé can also bring in a very healthy profit.

“The purchase would not be unsustainable and don’t forget Juve have done this before with Gonzalo Higuain. They saved money this season and if they qualify for the Champions League, they’d have that extra cash to spend.”

However, it is worth noting that Napoli changed their contract negotiations after losing Higuain to Juventus for his €90m release clause in 2016.

Following that controversial and devastating transfer, Napoli wrote it into their deals that release clauses were only valid for clubs outside of Italy.

It was seen at the time as a specifically anti-Juventus strategy and still holds for Osimhen’s contract.

As for the Nigeria international, he is believed to be looking beyond Serie A for his next destination.

The Premier League would seem most likely for Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also contenders for his signature.
