Catania President Antonino Pulvirenti admits he’s considering his position, but affirms his ‘complete innocence’ in a match-fixing scandal.

The Elefanti have been heavily implicated in the emerging ‘Goal Trains’ scandal, with at least five matches involving the club under suspicion.

The patron’s lawyer Giovanni Grasso delivered a statement, calling his client a “stranger” to the allegations.

“He will do everything in his power to demonstrate his complete innocence, with facts,” the statement continued.

“The President expresses his utmost confidence in the judiciary.

“The President intends to take an immediate decision on his position at Catania Calcio, in order to defend himself with peace of mind, and to safeguard the interests of the club.”
