Christian Pulisic tells Milan to expect ‘a very intense game, a lot of tackles and energy’ from Newcastle United in the Champions League showdown.

It kicks off at St. James’ Park on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT.

In order to qualify for the Round of 16, the Rossoneri need a victory and for PSG to also lose their match away to Borussia Dortmund.

A third-place finish in the group would bump them down to the Europa League play-offs and fourth mean elimination from Europe altogether.

“It’s definitely going to be a difficult match,” former Chelsea striker Pulisic told Milan TV.

Coach Stefano Pioli said that Pulisic, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek had already warned him about the change of approach from the Magpies on home turf, where they step up the intensity level considerably.

“We expect a very intense game, difficult stadium to go to, but I think we are well prepared. We need to give everything to have a chance to win the game and come out of the group.

“It’s a very intense team, they will put in a lot of hard work, a lot of tackles, a lot of energy and we need to be ready for this,” continued the American.

“All we can focus on is us winning the game. We can only control this, after the game we will see how we stand. We’ll hopefully do our part and see what happens.”

Pulisic has five goals and three assists in 13 Serie A games so far this term, but is yet to contribute to a goal in his five Champions League appearances.

“I’m feeling great. It’s been a good season so far, some ups and downs, but I’m enjoying it a lot, I’m feeling fit and ready to go.
