Lucas Torreira will not be returning to Serie A this summer after his recent spell with Fiorentina, reportedly agreeing a move to Galatasaray.
The 26-year-old Uruguayan midfielder spent last season on loan with the Viola, where he impressed across his 31 Serie A appearances under Vincenzo Italiano. After returning to Arsenal last month, a move back to Italy seemed fairly likely as Lazio and Fiorentina both explored deals.
As reported by TMW, Galatasaray managed to convince Torreira of a move in a video-call yesterday. The Turkish side will now pay Arsenal around €7m to secure the 26-year-old’s signature and things are being finalised today.
Things are expected to be made official over the coming days, with Torreira keen to find some consistency following a difficult five-year tie to Arsenal. The Uruguayan midfielder never settled in North London and he failed to look his best across his 89 appearances for the Gunners.
