Ricardo Rodriguez has returned to Milan after PSV decided against signing the left-back outright.

PSV took Rodriguez on loan in January and reports at the time stated they reserved a €4m option to buy him at the end of the season.

However, he managed just six appearances without any goals or assists as the Eredivisie campaign ended early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 27-year-old is now back at Milan, as per Sportitalia, although he cannot take part in the Rossoneri’s remaining Serie A matches this term.

He is not expected to stay for long as German sides Hoffenheim, Hertha Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt have all shown interest in him, explains the broadcaster.

Rodriguez played his best football in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg, scoring 22 goals and reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.
