PSV are said to be interested in bringing in Milan’s Charles De Ketelaere to replace the outgoing Xavi Simons this summer, but Milan’s asking price could be an issue for the Eredivisie outfit according to reports from the Netherlands.

Eindhovens Dagblad originally broke the news that PSV are keen on replacing Simons, who will return to PSG on a buy-back clause, with De Ketelaere, who reportedly ticks all of PSV’s boxes in terms of age, style of play and physical characteristics.

However, given that Milan paid a total package of €35m to sign De Ketelaere from Club Brugge just last summer, the club are keen to recoup as much of that sum as possible.

Reports from Calciomercato claim that the Rossoneri are prepared to listen to offers in the region of €30m to let De Ketelaere go after just one season at San Siro.

€30m would be an extraordinarily high ask for PSV, whose current record purchase is Mateja Kezman, bought for €14m at the beginning of the 2000-01 season.

Therefore, Calciomercato suggests that PSV could offer Milan a loan with option to buy deal instead, although this would not be an ideal scenario for the Rossoneri.
