Milan have thrown out Paris Saint-Germain’s opening bid of €20m plus Alphonse Areola for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Multiple sources claimed on Wednesday evening that Milan were in talks to sell Donnarumma to PSG for cash plus Areola, equating to a deal worth €50m.

However, Sport Mediaset and Tuttomercatoweb insist the Rossoneri are demanding much more than the cash offering of €20m.

Sport Mediaset adds they are also not satisfied with the French giants’ €30m valuation of Areola, who rotated with Gianluigi Buffon in goal last season.

The Italy No 1, who only turned 20 in February, has two years left on his contract at San Siro.

SM explains that while he wants to stay at Milan, he ‘understands’ their need to balance the books, even if it means him being sacrificed.
