PSG have signed 18-year-old Italian midfielder Cher Ndour, but according to L’Equipe, Luis Enrique is not entirely convinced about Gigio Donnarumma.

Ndour has joined PSG on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Benfica. Born in Brescia in 2004, the promising central midfielder has signed a five-year deal with the club and will wear the number 27, PSG said in an official statement.

“I’m really moved,” Ndour said in his first interview with PSG.

“It’s a mix of emotions, but it’s happiness above all because Paris Saint-Germain is one of the best clubs in the world with so many winners, and for me, it’s an honour to be a part of this new family.”

The product of Atalanta academy will join his compatriots Marco Verratti and Gigio Donnarumma, but according to L’Equipe, there are doubts regarding the ex-Milan star.

New coach Luis Enrique, in fact, wants a goalkeeper with good ball distribution and the impact of Gigio in training hasn’t been great.

PSG have hired a new goalkeeper coach Borja Alvarez, who has replaced the Italian Gianluca Spinelli who has joined Inter.

This doesn’t mean that Donnarumma is on the market, but Luis Enrique is making his assessments regarding the future of the 24-year-old in Paris.

Donnarumma joined PSG on a free transfer from Milan in 2021 and his contract runs out in June 2026.
